چکیده
There are two related schools attempting at a lattice theory of quantum gravity, dynamical triangulation and Regge quantum gravity. We concentrate on the latter approach and refer to [1,2] for excellent reviews of the former framework. In particular we investigate different formulations, all of them based on the original work by Regge [3], namely conventional Regge gravity [4,5], a group theoretical approach [6], Z2link Regge-theory [7], and Regge gravity coupled to SU(2)-gauge theory [8]. Each model exposes phase transitions at some critical gravitational couplings separating small and large curvature phases and allows to look for a continuum limit. [9,10]. A candidate realistic quantum theory of gravity should reproduce the expected long range interaction behavior observed in nature. Thus we calculate two-point funtions to probe the existence of massless quanta of the gravitational field.

We report on some attempts to use lattice QCD to investigate topics in strong interaction phenomenology which are usually interpreted in terms of soft Pomeron exchange.

Preliminary results are presented in our program to calculate low moments of structure functions for the proton and neutron on a 24 3 × 32 lattice at β = 6.2. A comparison is made for a variety of smeared nucleon sources and preliminary results for the calculation of the nucleon tensor charge are presented.

We study numerically the dynamical triangulation formulation of two-dimensional quantum gravity using a restricted class of triangulation, so-called minimal triangulations, in which only vertices of coordination number 5, 6, and 7 are allowed [1]. A real-space RG analysis shows that for pure gravity (central charge c = 0) this restriction does not affect the critical behavior of the model. Furt...

Starting from the meson-meson Green function in 3+1 dimensional quenched lattice QCD we calculate potentials between heavy-light mesons for various light-quark mass parameters. For the valence quarks we employ the staggered scheme. The resulting potentials turn out to be short ranged and attractive. A comparison with a tadpole improved action for the gauge fields is presented.

In this article we analyze a two dimensional lattice gauge theory based on a quantum group. The algebra generated by gauge fields is the lattice algebra introduced recently by A. in [1]. We define and study Wilson loops. This theory is quasi-topological as in the classical case, which allows us to compute the correlation functions of this theory on an arbitrary surface.
